Three Ways to Stay at Pawna
When you plan a trip to Pawna Lake, the first big decision is not the date but the type of stay. You can sleep in a lakeside tent, a cottage, or a private villa with a pool. Each one gives a very different experience, at a very different price.
This guide compares the three, using the actual stays listed on BookMyLake, so you can choose the one that fits your group, budget and comfort level. Prices mentioned are starting rates; they vary by date, and some stays have a weekend rate on Friday and Saturday nights.
Option 1: Tents
Listings: Classic Camp Tent (₹999 per adult) and Triangle Nest (₹1,499 per adult)
Tents are the classic Pawna experience. You sleep close to the water, step out to see the sunset and wake up to mist on the lake.
Classic Camp Tent is a lakeside tent with dinner, snacks, tea/coffee, breakfast, bonfire, outdoor activities and parking included. It is the most affordable way to stay at Pawna.
Triangle Nest is a couple-friendly A-frame tent with breakfast, snacks, bonfire, music and a live BBQ. It feels cosier and a little more special than a standard tent.
Pros
- Lowest cost per person
- The most authentic camping feel
- Great for groups of friends, students and couples
Cons
- Less insulation from cold in winter and heat in summer
- Basic compared to a room
- Less suited to elders or people who sleep lightly
Choose a tent if: You want the true camping experience, you are on a budget, or you are a group of friends looking for a fun night by the bonfire. See all options on the Pawna Lake camping page.
Option 2: Cottages
Listings: Dome House (₹1,999 per adult) and Diamond House (₹2,999 per person, minimum 2 guests charged)
Cottages give you a more solid structure while keeping you close to the lake.
Dome House is a lakeside dome cottage. It is a good middle ground: you still feel like you are camping, but with more shelter and comfort than a tent.
Diamond House is an AC cottage with dinner, breakfast, BBQ, bonfire and music. On Saturdays there is a guitar show; for groups it can be arranged on weekdays on request.
Pros
- More comfortable and private
- Better in hot weather (especially the AC Diamond House) and in the monsoon
- Suits families with elders and couples celebrating an occasion
Cons
- Higher price per person
- Diamond House charges a minimum of 2 guests, so it is not ideal for solo travellers
Choose a cottage if: Comfort matters, you are travelling with parents or young kids, or you are visiting in the summer or monsoon. Browse the Pawna Lake cottages.
Option 3: Villa
Listing: Silva Villa (₹15,000 per night, whole villa)
Silva Villa is a 3BHK farmhouse villa at Patan/Malavli near Lonavala. It has a private pool (14 by 26 feet), a kitchen and a caretaker available 24×7, and sleeps up to 10 guests.
A refundable deposit of ₹3,000 is taken at the villa. If you use the kitchen, there is a charge of ₹1,000. Pets are not allowed.
Pros
- Complete privacy for your group
- Your own pool
- Kitchen access and space to spread out
- Works out reasonable per head for a full group
Cons
- Not right on the lake shore like the tents
- Best value only when you have a larger group
- No pets
Choose the villa if: You are a family or group of up to 10, celebrating something, or simply want your own space with a pool. See more on our Pawna Lake villas page.

A Quick Decision Guide
Still unsure? Ask yourself three questions. First, how many of you are going? If it is a group of 8 to 10, the villa often works out best per head; if it is two to six people, tents or cottages make more sense. Second, how much does comfort matter? If anyone in the group dislikes heat, insects or sleeping close to the ground, choose a cottage. Third, what do you want to remember from the trip? If it is the sunset over the water and a bonfire by the lake, go with a tent or lakeside cottage. If it is a private pool party with family, pick the villa. And whatever you choose, carry warm clothes in winter and rain gear in the monsoon.
